Founder Institutions - Swiss Vaccine Research Institute

FOUNDER INSTITUTIONS

The SVRI will be based initially on the partnership between the following leading institutions, based in different parts of Switzerland.

Founder Institutions

Partner

These six institutions have a long tradition and a concentration of scientists in the fields of immunology, of HIV, malaria, TB and cancer vaccine development, of virology and of adjuvant/delivery technology. Partnerships with other Swiss institutions competent in the fields of immunology and vaccines will be strongly favoured.

The strengths of the SVRI include a critical mass of basic, translational, and clinical researchers; a multidisciplinary scientific community; a sustained support for high risk research from international programmes; an infrastructure able to respond rapidly to urgent public health needs; trained clinical scientists and organized clinical centres enabling the follow-up of volunteers/patients throughout research protocols; programmes and facilities for training future generations of fundamental and clinical scientists; and commitment to develop and distribute novel reagents and technology.
